Let's face it folks....Summer is over!  There is nothing we can do about and we may as well embrace it.  I am just back from a great OF class at Bellahouston tonight and after a sneaky wee holiday in Spain, I could not believe how dark the evening was.  I LOVE it!  There is something brilliant about Winter classes.  You may drag yourself there like a condemned prisoner but I guarantee you will bounce home with the energy of a child. The parks belong to us alone on these dark nights.  While others cower under blankets and talk about the nights fair drawin' in, we OFers go out and meet the Winter head on.

I am pretty sure that there have been times when after a long day at work and that cup of tea, the thought of going out there is really less than inviting.....the horizontal rain drives you inside and the wind taunts you!  When you feel like that, just imagine how amazing you will feel in an hour's time when you have been running around, getting more than a bit manky and having a brilliant laugh with your fellow crazies!  Trust me....OF is great at any time of year but battling the elements is an amazing feeling...AND from a personal point of view.....no one can see my beer belly under all these layers.....yaldy!

Winter also brings the OF Christmas extravaganza.  It is on Saturday the 15th December at Clydesdale Cricket Club on the Southside.  Details will be made available as soon as possible.  For anyone who has not attended this before, I can honestly say that it is not to be missed.  It is without a doubt my favourite Christmas night of the year.  We will have the traditional and hotly contested OF Awards Ceremony.  The Committee have already been planning the presentation...and yes I am corruptible....so keep the date free and we will let you know the plans as we work them all out.

In the meantime, I am off for  a shower!

I couldn't agree more! This is the best time of year for training. No MIDGIES and no drunk students in Kelvingrove - its ours, all ours !!!!! I'd have rain before midgies any day of the week. Last Thursday was particularly wet - probably the wettest of the year so far - to the point there was so much rain in my eyes I couldn't see. But Graham worked us hard and we felt great afterwards.
Looking forward to the Christmas night out - keep up the good work :- )

Hi Karen,
Thanks for your response and great to hear you are coming to the Xmas night out...it is always a brilliant night and a great way to actually speak to fellow OFers without gasping for breath! Spread the word around as I am always wary that those not on facebook and twitter can miss out on information floating about.
And don't forget that if you have anything you want to put on the blog...either gossip or acheivements or just a wee observation, then drop us a line.....
CHIEF Ed :-)

One of the best ways to exercise is a reasonable plan for Crossfit
